For many years, CARR has been pushing for every motorist to get a black box recorder for a very simple reason. State governments are trying every which way to fleece motorists by fining them for a myriad of offences. Most of these offences rely on evidence given by infringement bureaus, such as photos taken by speed and red light cameras, or the testimony of police who lay in wait for motorists and accuse them of speeding or committing other offences. And all that motorists usually have in their defence is their word that they did not commit the offences of which they have been accused - and that word is usually not worth a cracker in court.
Please read the page on the CARR website titled Black Box Recorder to learn exactly what a black box recorder is - and why you should have the right kind of black box recorder. A dashcam will not provide the sort of data that you need to fight wrongful speeding tickets or accusations of holding a mobile phone while driving or not wearing a seat belt. An ordinary dashcam is a waste of money. Only a dual camera GPS-equipped black box recorder will do what is required.
To make it easy for people to acquire what CARR considers to be the best all-in-one black box recorder available, CARR has made arrangements with the Vacron manufacturer to directly supply the excellent Vacron CDR-E07D-WiFi Full HD 1080p black box recorder that has all the features that will provide the hard evidence that a motorist needs to beat virtually any wrongful infringement or booking.
The Vacron CDR-E07D-WiFi black box recorder has the following features:
There are a number of reasonably good dual camera GPS-equipped car black box recorders on the market. However, most of them have a separate second camera that is connected by a cable and many have an external GPS antenna that is also connected by a cable. These black box recorders need to be permanently installed into cars and are difficult to disconnect and move to other vehicles.
The Vacron is an all-in-one device. Everything is built in - the two cameras, GPS antenna, WiFi dongle and other features. So the Vacron is easy to remove and put in another vehicle. If you use the double-sided tape mount in your car, you can slide the Vacron out of it in just one second, clip on the three included suction cups and throw this tiny device and the power cable into your suitcase and take it with you. Otherwise you can just use the suction cup mount in your car as well. If you rent a car, you can just stick the Vacron to the windscreen and plug in the power cable into the cigarette lighter and you will be protected as if you were driving your own car.
Because the Vacron has a GPS logger, your speed and position, along with time and date, will be recorded whenever you drive. So if you are wrongly booked for speeding, you can very quickly destroy such accusations against you. Remember that the GPS data is the same that is provided to every commercial airliner, so a magistrate would find it almost impossible to reject it as evidence. The CarBox2 software displays a Google Map with your car's position, speed and track. Along with the date and time-stamped video recordings, this proves beyond a shadow of doubt exactly where and how you were driving.
The Vacron has two cameras. The front full HD 1080p camera on the Vacron records the road ahead and is most valuable to prove what actually happened in any incident. If a cop claims that you were driving dangerously, erratically or distractedly and you were driving safely and normally, the video will quickly destroy any false testimony in this regard. What's more, the camera will record accidents and prove exactly who was at fault. It will record incidents of road rage and become hard evidence against any thug who attacks you or your car.
The Vacron's second HD 720p camera has a very wide-angled lens and the four infra-red LEDs facing into the car interior records driver and passengers and even views out the windows day and night. Many corrupt cops often wrongly book motorists for not wearing a seat belt or holding a mobile phone while driving. It's easy pickings for them if they can't nail motorists for other offences and they need to fill their booking quotas - and those quotas certainly do exist. They know that under normal circumstances, it's the motorist's word against their word and in virtually every case, magistrates will believe the cop. But the interior time and date-stamped video will quickly destroy a cop's false testimony in court.
I have used the previous model Vacron for a couple of years and now I have the latest full HD 1080p integrated Wi-Fi model. I have rigorously tested this new Vacron and it has performed perfectly. The Vacron Player software is a free download for iPhone and Android smartphones and is relatively easy to use. The above photos are from my Vacron Player from my iPhone and show the video from the front camera and the rear very wide-angle camera. There is no way on earth that a cop would be able to accuse me of holding a mobile phone while driving or not wearing a seat belt or indeed doing anything else that was illegal.
The Vacron black box recorder is extremely simple to use in any vehicle. For instance, it can be used straight out of the box, merely by inserting a Class 10 microSD card and sticking it to the windscreen by its suction cups and plugging the power lead into the cigarette lighter socket. However, I have devised a very neat way to install the Vacron in any vehicle.
I have compiled a document that shows how I installed my Vacron in my car. Hopefully you will prefer to keep the interior of vehicle nice and neat, so if you install the Vacron using my method, you will literally not see a wire, but the Vacron can be disconnected in seconds and taken away, for instance to use on trips in rental cars.
The Vacron requires a microSD flash memory card that must be purchased separately. It must be a Class 10 card and CARR recommends that you purchase one with the maximum 128GB capacity for this Vacron model. This memory card can be obtained almost anywhere, but there is a good on-line vendor called Shopping Square that sells such 128GB Class 10 microSD cards for around $56.
The Vacron CarBox Player will only run under Microsoft Windows. If you have an Apple Mac or Linux computer, you will need to install Windows emulator software or a dual boot facility that will run Windows and hopefully the CarBox2 Player can be used.
